Real Weddings : Mr & Mrs Martin & Hanna Kinsella
Hanna and Martin (as seen on ITV's 'Real Housewives of Cheshire') wed in the stunning halls of Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral, followed by a reception in the lush surroundings of Sefton Park's iconic Palmhouse.
Hanna's vision was to honour both the awe inspiring setting of the cathedral and her Iranian heritage - combining a traditional invitation with elements of Persian design. This was achieved using a variety of printing techniques. The invitation was printed simply using a raised effect in deep green on a pure white board. This was presented wrapped in a vellum sheet featuring a lush and leafy tropical design in many shades of green. The accompanying info card featured a paisley design, foiled in bright gold. Paisley is an ornamental pattern originating in Persia featuring the 'boteh' or 'buta', a teardrop-shaped motif with a curved upper end. The theme carried throughout the stationery suite, and was set off with additional elements of gold - in the wax seal and the thread which wrapped the invitation. The seating plan was a mirror with the paisley pattern applied around the edges with sumptuous hints of luxurious gold on the individual cards. Simply stunning!

Custom Wedding Commissions
Over the past 15 years, I have produced individual stationery designs for over 1000 weddings, each one different. Using techniques ranging from laser cutting to letterpress, block foil to origami, my range of crafting skills, selection of paper stocks and knowledge of printing techniques allow me to bring each couple's vision to life in a unique way.
Explore this site to discover the range of bespoke weddings I have worked on and get a feel for my design style, and please use the contact form below or e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org to get in touch. A one-off booking fee of £90 secures your date in my diary and enables the process to begin.
Custom wedding stationery is not a speedy process! Please give as much notice as you can, your stationery will take approximately 6 weeks to produce, from initial consultation to delivery. We start with a consultation which will last around 90 minutes. At consultation we will discuss your wedding and really get into detail of what you are looking for. I often have separate consultations to cover weddings and subsequently reception stationery, including both table stationery and service stationery.
The average charge for bespoke invitations by Dragonfly is £700. As a guide, this is for approx 50 x save the date cards, 50 x invitations including information and reply cards and 25 x evening invitations. All envelopes are included. This is for digitally printed stationery. Hand finishing and alternative printing methods (letterpress, embossing, thermography, foiling, laser cutting, litho) will be an additional charge.
Real Weddings : Chelsea & Mark
Chelsea and Mark's wedding reception at the Walled Garden, Orchardleigh, Bath was so beautifully light and airy you never would imagine this took place in October!
The stunning photographs which reflect the day so perfectly were taken by the super talented Heledd Roberts @heleddrobertsphoto. Charlotte Elise Events helped to plan the day and the stationery which I designed for Chelsea and Mark reflected their engagement on safari in Kenya. The seating plan almost floated on air, with cards suspended on a clear acrylic background and fairy lights twinkling in the background.
... telling your story ...
Invitations that tell the story of you, your lives, your journey together, and your big day.
Real Weddings : Col & Jen
Col & Jen were great fun to work with. A pair of seasoned globetrotters, the vision they brought me for the invitation was something reflecting their extensive travels. It had to say 'wedding'....and it had to have the look of being produced by an artisan working in an attic studio and laboriously adding traces of gold fleck by hand! I think we nailed it. Flecks of gold, and a collection of mementoes - artfully transformed into the essential guest information for their wedding day. The accommodation was detailed on a business card, there was a travel itinerary for the order of the day, a vintage postcard RSVP, a handwritten note with gold wax for the gift list - and a nod to their original celebration in Turkey in the form of a little wallet sized picture. The theme continued with their on the day stationery.
Real Weddings : Gemma & Ben
Gemma and Ben were a delight from the moment they walked in. Gemma literally could not wait to get to work on the stationery and had so many fabulous ideas. The stationery was based around a series of illustrations I created of their wedding venues and their relationship landmarks. This is what they said about the process:
"Ling was amazing to work with. She went above and beyond in designing the perfect stationery for our wedding day ... We met with her several times throughout the process and she was always so friendly and welcoming ... Our stationery contained some phenomenal sketches drawn by Ling herself of places that are special to us ... We've had some of the sketches framed we love them so much. We highly recommend Dragonfly Couture Stationery to anyone looking for the perfect personalised stationery ... "
After the wedding I was honoured to create a thank you card, and for a first anniversary present I was commissioned to create a
piece of bespoke artwork and a posy of paper flowers from Gemma's bouquet!
