Frequently Asked Questions

​How do I book and pay? Simple. The 'book now' and go to the page headed Ruthin Retreat: Paper Blossom Mastery. Press 'book now' and on the next page 'check next availability'. On the drop down menu on the right you can choose either a three day ticket (Friday afternoon's colouring class plus the full weekend of Paper Blossom Mastery), or a two day ticket (Paper Blossom Mastery). The next page asks you to complete a very simple form with your contact details. Full payment is required when booking. Please see T&Cs for the full refund policy.

Can I book now, pay later? Yes you can. If you would prefer to arrange a payment schedule simply e-mail Ling at ling@paperbydragonfly.com with your preferred ticketing option and your full name, address, phone number and e-mail. Ling will reserve your place and send a payment link for a £100 deposit. The balance payment will be due 4 weeks before the retreat and we will email you a second booking link. I’d love to come, but I don’t think I’m at all creative. How will I manage? Your hosts, Ling and Meg, are both experienced artists and experienced teachers, who pride themselves on their ability to coach anyone through the process of crafting paper flowers! As long as you are willing to learn, we can teach you, and guarantee that, with willing and a little effort, you will leave with a stunning flower!

 

I have a very restricted diet. Can you accommodate this? Please let us know in detail what your dietary requirements are. Although lunch is not included in the retreat, we will book our lunch at the onsite restaurant (you simply pay them direct on the day). If you have any dietary requirements please let us know when booking so we can pass your requirements on to the cafe in advance and they will accommodate your requests.

Is the venue accessible for wheelchair users? Yes, Ruthin Craft Centre is accessible for wheelchair users.

 

I am allergic to flowers. Can I still come? Of course you can come, and one of the many wonderful facets of paper flower arrangements is that they have no pollen! However please do be aware that the retreat is centered around flowers, and we plan to provide fresh flowers for study on the day. Although we can ensure that the flowers are kept away from you, we cannot remove them completely, but we can provide alternative study resources if necessary!

How long are the workshop sessions? The morning sessions start at 10am and are 3 hrs with a break for morning tea, which will be provided - along with cake! The afternoon sessions will be around 2.5 hours with a tea break. The studio will be open until 5.30pm and we will on hand to help if you need to spend a little more time on the project.

Where can I stay? If you are there coming from further afield, there are many accommodation options available in and around Ruthin. Visit booking.com or airbnb.co.uk to explore your options. Woodlands Hall Hotel is close to Ruthin offering luxury accommodation and great facilities, and there are many smaller guest houses and airbnbs in the area.

What time will we finish on Sunday? Following our last morning crafting session, we will break for lunch at 1pm and we say our goodbyes around 4.30pm.
